Chapter Advocacy Coordinator Position Available
We are currently seeking a passionate individual to be the Nebraska Chapter Advocacy Coordinator.
The Chapter Advocacy Coordinator is, in summary, a volunteer who interacts with individuals, other disability groups and decision makers to advocate for the rights and quality of life for individuals with spinal cord injuries and disorders (SCI/D) in Nebraska. Key functions could include:

Advocacy Leadership: Serve as the primary advocacy point person for the Nebraska chapter, relaying information between national and chapter members.

Community Engagement: Build relationships with local, state, and federal legislators and other Nebraska disability groups to advocate for advancement of practices and policies that support individuals with SCI/D.

Resource Management: Provide members with information and resources to engage in advocacy efforts, including training materials, policy briefs, learning opportunities and action alerts.

Communication: Act as a brand ambassador for United Spinal, ensuring accurate, honest, and reliable communication with the press, other organizations, and the community.

Collaboration: Participate in periodic Zoom meetings with Chapter Advocacy Coordinators from other regions to share best practices and learn from each other's efforts and accomplishments.

Reporting: Update the national office on advocacy activities, successes, and challenges within the Nebraska chapter.
